PINK SATURDAY

Beverly ask us to do something special for the next two Pink Saturdays leading up to Christmas. Each Saturday we will have a theme, and she would like us to share our response to the theme. Saturday, December 12 - Show us one of your favorite holiday decorations, and tell us why it is special to you....

No, this is not one of my favorite holiday decorations.... But, boy is this Pink wearing girl Cute Cute Cute... This is my special decorating helper Babycakes....

This is one of the special decorations around my home... ( Please excuse all dog and cat hair) As they like to help out also...

This is our tree skirt... I made this 31 years ago.... When I was pregnant with Baby Cakes Mommy...

Each little piece of felt had to be cut out...Then stitched to the skirt...

This tree skirt took me 684 hours to complete... I thought about retiring it this year....But my 15 year old would not hear of it... It has been under our tree now for 31 years....It has seen better days ...But my children love it....

Yes you know Miss Lucy, my other Pink wearing Christmas Decorating helper.... This is where all that hair comes from....But when you are this cute...You can get away with it...

GWENDOLYN , over at A Charming Home is having a Give-A-Way... you can Win these three great Vintage Pink Ornaments... So IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WINNING THEM, PLEASE go on over to her blog and LEAVE A COMMENT ..... Good Luck...

Pink Saturday, is graciously hosted by Beverly, at How Sweet the Sound. Be sure to visit Beverly's beautiful blog to see a complete list of all the participants in today's Pink Saturday. Thanks so much for stopping by...... As always it has been my Pleasure...Come Back When you can Play Longer...
Merry Pink Christmas

  4. Julie,
Amazing the time we put into making things, but then look how many years and how many memories surrounded that tree skirt! You reminded me about the Advent Calendar that I made 25 years ago. I should try to find it.
I positively love the skirt, the sweet pink Christmas baby, and I do so relate to the PET HAIR which is everywhere I look! Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the preparation for the most wonderful time of the year!
    God Bless, Meg

  15. Julie,

Oh dear God, the picture of the baby is so darn cute that I made my husband come and see it. He asked me who it was and I said I don't know him personally, but he is the most adorable child I've ever seen.

What a lovely Pink Saturday post.

  30. I love your tree skirt and can remember when sewing with all the felts and the sequins was so very popular. I have the childrens stockings from back when and they are made using felt and beautiful patterns like your skirt. Babycakes is a doll for sure and love Lucy as well. Happy Pink Saturday and have a Merry Christmas, see you in 2010, Char

  31. All the work and hours you put into the tree skirt are well worth it - it's adorable! And your helpers are, too. I'm partial to doggies anyway ;) We have lots of doggy hairs decorating our house, too. One time one of the commentators on a Westminster Dog Show said that "if you have dogs or cats, pet hair is a condiment". Yucky, but true ;)
