I am so excited to be participating in Blue Monday ! Be sure to visit Sally at Smiling Sally to see more great "Blue Monday" posts.

More Pictures from around Charleston South Carolina... Just a few years ago the city built a new bridge. The bridge opened on July 16, 2005. This photo was taken before they took down the old bridges... See the two lane bridge on the left, when I was a child that was the only bridge between Charleston and Mount Pleasant South Carolina... Can you tell how narrow this bridge is? You can see Charleston in the back ground. You can read more about the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge here.

This is a picture taken from the boat, after the other bridges came down.....
Thank you all for stopping by... Until next Monday have a great week... Julie
What a difference the new bridge must make!
ReplyDeleteWe go to Charleston often but come in from the south so I rarely get to drive across the bridge but it is a beauty!

Was in Charleston this past fall. The new bridge is a real jewel in the landscape.
ReplyDeleteThat first pic is breathtaking1!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photograph. New bridges are like pieces of artwork in their spare design and architecture. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing the old bridges. Wife and I spent many vacations in Charleston. I've even driven to Charleston from Atlanta just for the day. Driving across the old, narrow southern bridge was always a thrill, not always a good thrill but a thrill none the less.
ReplyDeleteWe were in Charleston for vacation when they demolished on of the old bridges. Your pictures are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHello Dish Soap... oh sorry I forgot about the beautiful bridge....never been to South Carolina.. but I have lovely blogger friends from N.C.

Wow, you're just a baby! One month old, but one would never know it. Your blog and posts are so well done. I'd say you're a quick study! That bridge is amazing. Our daughter took us there last time we visited and had us walk it. Spectacular!
ReplyDeleteWow, your hubby is a MUSC grad? I'll have to tell my girls. Kristin is in her 3rd year (went to her white coat ceremony in june) and Katie just finished gross anatomy and is getting ready to tackle her first year. They both love it. You asked why they were interested in becoming dentist...nope, my hubby isn't one.. he's a PhD Organic Chemist, but since they were little, always loved going to the dentist, taking care of their teeth and having a beautiful smile. They both worked as dental assistants before entering Dental school. I was glad that they did, since it helped them to decide that this was the field they wanted to go in to.
Yes, I HATED the old bridge--it was plain scary--I always made my hubby do the driving. What I like about the new bridge is the big walking path!
